The Chairman of the One Tobago Voice Party (OTVP) is calling on Tobagonians to reject Watson Duke and his PDP (Progressive Democratic Patriots) political party at the August 10th General Election.

According to Charles, the One Tobago Voice Party—which is a coalition established among the Tobago Organisation of the People (TOP), Tobago Forwards and Platform of Truth—is the best alternative on the island.

He said the last five years under the People’s National Movement (PNM) have been a disaster, and even Duke was unfit to take the island forward.

Charles’ comments follows a warning from Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley that he will not forgive Tobagonians if the PNM is unseated on the island by Duke’s party.

“I don’t know about the Prime Minister’s comment,” he said. “We have been telling people to keep away from that. We are a God-loving and God-respecting community, and we cannot have somebody—”

He added: “A man is innocent until he’s proven guilty, but criminal charges are on you [Duke], and you are going to offer yourself to go to the highest institution in the land to make laws for the country? We have to say to you, this is a no-go where Tobago is concerned.”

Meanwhile, Hochoy Charles is advising Tobagonians to play as a team or lose by default, when they take to the polls on August 10th.
