Divali Nagar still awaiting Government funds

Three days after the Divali Nagar's opening, its organizers are yet to receive any state funding or hear from the government.

Public Relations Officer for the National Commission for Indian Culture, Surujdeo Mangroo tells CNC3 that the government usually provides an annual subvention.

Last year, the commission received $800,000 from the Community Development Ministry to put on a show which they say costs about $5 million.

Mangroo says while the Divali Nagar generates some revenue, the NCIC still relies on the subvention for infrastructural works.
