Only three T&T players were on the list of players contracted on retainer by Cricket West Indies (CWI), released yesterday. One Day International vice captain Jason Mohammed, fast-bowler Shannon Gabriel, and opening batsman Evin Lewis were the lucky three. Gabriel is now eligible to play all three formats, while Lewis and Mohammed can play limited overs.
Lewis whose star in the shorter formats, is on the rise spoke about what it means to get his first CWI retainer contract. On the same day that he got a retainer contract, the left hander from Rio Claro was also picked up in the IPL for the very first time.
Mumbai is his new home where he joins Kieron Pollard with the three-time champs.
