100 bullets found under Carenage banana trees

Over 100 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana were discovered by officers of the Western Division Task Force (WDTF), during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Carenage district.

The exercise which took place on Sunday also included officers of the Western Division Criminal Investigations Department and Canine Unit.

During the exercise, officers carried out a search of a bushy area along Schuller Street and unearthed a black wooden box containing 89 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 25 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, and 275 grammes of marijuana wrapped in clear plastic, buried beneath a patch of banana trees.
