15 packets of marijuana found in Cedros

A quantity of marijuana was discovered by officers of the Central Division Task Force and Central Division Major Crime Unit in the Cedros district during an anti-crime exercise yesterday.

Officers under the supervision of Snr. Supt. Inraj Balram and ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith, conducted the exercise between 11 am and 5 pm, on Thursday 18th October, 2018, during which they proceeded to Bamboo Village, Cedros.

A search of a bushy area near the coastline was conducted, which resulted in 15 brown packets containing a total of 8.14 kilogrammes of marijuana being discovered hidden under sheets of galvanize.

The drug has an estimated street value of $81,400.

Investigations are ongoing.
