17-year-old boy in court on arms and ammunition charges

A 17-year-old Cunupia boy has appeared before a Chaguanas Magistrate, charged with possession of a firearm and a quantity of ammunition.

Around 11:30 am on Sunday 9th April, 2017, officers on mobile patrol along Chin Chin Road, Cunupia, observed two boys, ages 17 and 13, acting suspiciously.

Upon searching them, the officers found a Taurus revolver and five rounds of .38mm ammunition in the possession of the 17-year-old, while nothing illegal was found on the younger boy.

They were taken to the Cunupia Police Station, where the 13-year-old, also from Cunupia, was released into the care of his parents, while the 17-year-old, was charged by WPC Elcock and PC Wickham.
