Accused in Croisee daylight murder appears in court today

The man accused of inflicting multiple stab wounds on the mother of his son, at the Croisee, San Juan, which resulted in her death, is due to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate, today charged with murder.

Aaron Garcia aka “Tyron Fidani”, 25, a programming technician of Mt. Hope Road, Mt. Hope, was charged with murder, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC, on Sunday 25th March, 2018.

Anita Bahadur, 27, a kitchen assistant, of Aranguez, was standing in the vicinity of the El Socorro taxi stand on Wednesday 21st March, 2018, when she was approached by a man armed with a knife.

The man proceeded to stab the victim several times about the body.

Bahadur was pronounced dead at arrival at hospital.

A suspect was held while attempting to flee the scene by a Corporal attached to the Defence Force and two civilians.

Investigations were supervised by Insp. Shaun Craig and Insp. Christopher Fuentes, both of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region 2, while Garcia was charged by PC Ricardo Ramdial, also of HBI Region 2, on Sunday 25th March, 2018.
