Autopsy today on man killed by the police

The man fa­tal­ly shot by po­lice on Tues­day in Ari­ma has been iden­ti­fied as Stephon Plaza of Ma­tu­ri­ta Ex­ten­sion.


The po­lice-in­volved shoot­ing took place at around 5 pm af­ter of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force, act­ing on in­for­ma­tion, when to Ma­tu­ri­ta Ex­ten­sion in search of a sus­pect who shot at a car in Hillview, Ari­ma, last Fri­day, in­flict­ing mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds on two women.

Re­ports are that there was an ex­change of gun­fire as the of­fi­cers ar­rived on the scene and Plaza was hit sev­er­al times about the body. None of the of­fi­cers was in­jured in the ex­change.

Plaza was tak­en to the Ari­ma Dis­trict Health Fa­cil­i­ty where he was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival.

Po­lice said he was want­ed in con­nec­tion with sev­er­al shoot­ing in­ci­dents.


An au­top­sy is ex­pect­ed to be per­formed to­day at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre in St James.
