Brothers charged with illegal possession of iguanas

Two brothers have been charged with possession of prohibited wildlife in the close season. 

Rennie Leopold, 31, of Foster Road, Sangre Grande, and Roger Leopold, 23, of Eastern Main Road, Sangre Chiquito, were arrested and charged after being found in possession of three live iguanas.

The arrests were made by officers of the Biche Police Station, during a road exercise, carried out between the hours of 5pm and 9pm on Monday 3rd April, 2017. The charge was laid by PC Colin Tom.

The men appeared in the Rio Claro Magistrates’ Court today, however, the matter was not heard. 

They are due to re-appear in court tomorrow, Wednesday 5th April, 2017, to answer to the charge.
