Dr Keith Rowley has once again reshuffled his cabinet, in a press release sent just after midnight the Prime Minister stated that he advised Her Excellency President Paula Mae Weekes about the changes to his cabinet. One substantial change is revocation of the appointment of Major General (Retired) Edmund Dillon as Minister of National Security.
The other changes are as follows: (i) Revoke the appointment of Mr Maxie Cuffie as Minister in the Ministry of Public Administration. Mr Cuffie will now serve as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Public Administration.
(ii) Revoke the Prime Minister’s assignment as Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Major General (Retired) Edmund Dillon will now take up that portfolio.
(iii)) Revoke the appointment of Mr Stuart Young as Minister in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs. Mr Young is the new Minister of National Security. Mr Young will also continue his responsibilities as Minister of Communications and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister also advised the President that the Minister of Public Administration, Ms Marlene Mc Donald resumed her duties last Thursday.
The PM Minister’s last cabinet reshuffle occurred earlier this year on April 9th. At that time Darryl Smith was demoted from office and replaced by Ms Shamfa Cudjoe who was at the time the Minister of Tourism. Mr Randall Mitchell was reassigned to the Ministry of Tourism. That reshuffle also saw the revocation of Mr Maxie Cuffie as Minister of Public Administration and Communications, Ms Marlene Mc Donald took his place.
