A Caribbean Airlines flight attendant has been sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in a federal prison for attempting to smuggle 6.5 pounds of cocaine into the US in his spandex underwear.

40 year old Rohan Myers who resides in Jamaica was sentenced on Wednesday after pleading guilty in October to a drug smuggling charge.

Mr. Myers was arrested in September at Fort Lauderdale’s Holly-Wood International Airport after working on a Caribbean Airline flight from Montego Bay, Jamaica.
US customs and border protection said Mr. Myers became nervous when they searched his luggage.

While he was being transported to a private room to be searched he broke down an admitted to having the drugs.

Myers then revealed he had been wearing long legged spandex compression underwear underneath his uniform.

Underneath the underwear officers found four packages duct taped to his thighs and ankles.
Myers told the judge tearfully “he accepts full responsibility for his actions…. and guarantees he will not set foot in any court again” he says his arrest ‘had a traumatic effect on his family”. Mr. Myers is the father of two boys.
