Chase helps guide Windies to victory

Ros­ton Chase's 94 helped the West In­dies se­cure a com­pre­hen­sive sev­en-wick­et vic­to­ry over Afghanistan in the first of three One Day In­ter­na­tion­als in In­dia on Wednes­day.

Af­ter ask­ing the vis­i­tors to bat first, Afghanistan were bowled out for 194 runs in 45.2 overs. Rah­mat Shah top-scored for his side with 61 while Ikram Alikhil scored 58.


Ja­son Hold­er, Ro­mario Shep­herd and Chase all took two wick­ets each for the Windies.

In re­sponse, open­er Shai Hope struck an un­beat­en 77 while Chase struck 11 bound­aries in his knock of 94. Hope hit five fours in his stay at the crease.
