Cops seize stolen jewelry, cocaine in Tobago

A 40 year old man, of Chance Street, Buc­coo, To­ba­go, is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear in the Scar­bor­ough Mag­is­trates’ Court to­day charged with pos­ses­sion of co­caine for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing, pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na, pos­ses­sion of a pro­hib­it­ed weapon name­ly a taser and pos­ses­sion of jew­el­ry be­lieved to be stolen.

The man was ar­rest­ed on Wednes­day night af­ter of­fi­cers from the Crown Point Po­lice Sta­tion, led by act­ing Cor­po­ral Thomas, ex­e­cut­ed a search war­rant for dan­ger­ous drugs at the man’s home.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers found and seized 12 pack­ets of co­caine, weigh­ing 287 grammes val­ued at $15,000 and 1.1grammes of mar­i­jua­na val­ued $50. The val­ue of the jew­el­ry is yet to be as­cer­tained.

Po­lice have asked that any­one whose jew­el­ry was stolen to con­tact the Crown Point Po­lice Sta­tion at 639-0020 or 639-0042 or the near­est po­lice sta­tion.
