Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith has confirmed that death threats have been made against the lives of police officers who were involved in the recent shooting incident in Trou Macaque, Laventille.
A statement by the Police Service says that investigations into the source of these threats are being conducted.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ag.) Anthony James has been assigned to lead investigations into the fatal shooting where five persons were fatally shot, following a shoot-out with police officers.
Additionally, police are also now investigating threats of bombs being planted at police stations across the country, following an anonymous call to E999 earlier today.
The statement said relevant agencies were activated following the call and police remain on high alert.
