Doubles vendor chopped to death

Dou­bles ven­dor Dha­roop Jages­sar was chopped to death on Tues­day morn­ing at his dou­bles shed at Chase Vil­lage, Ch­agua­nas.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 4.30 am a man con­front­ed Jages­sar in­side his busi­ness place, Cen­tral Dou­bles Fac­to­ry, and dealt him sev­er­al chops about the body. The 66-year-old busi­ness­man died on the scene.

Po­lice have since de­tained a close fe­male rel­a­tive of Jages­sar and an­oth­er man for ques­tion­ing. They were re­port­ed­ly ar­rest­ed by po­lice at the Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port just af­ter 6 am. The woman claimed she was forcibly tak­en to the air­port by the man, who is re­port­ed­ly a Guyanese na­tion­al.
