Doubles vendor Dharoop Jagessar was chopped to death on Tuesday morning at his doubles shed at Chase Village, Chaguanas.
According to a police report, at about 4.30 am a man confronted Jagessar inside his business place, Central Doubles Factory, and dealt him several chops about the body. The 66-year-old businessman died on the scene.
Police have since detained a close female relative of Jagessar and another man for questioning. They were reportedly arrested by police at the Piarco International Airport just after 6 am. The woman claimed she was forcibly taken to the airport by the man, who is reportedly a Guyanese national.
Investigations are continuing.
