The South-West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) is advising of a temporary disruption in the electrical supply on Sunday at the first tower of the San Fernando General Hospital’s main building during the hours of 7 am to 4 pm.
The SWRHA says this is part of the continued upgrade of the electrical infrastructure at the hospital.
The main areas that will be directly affected include Medical Extension 1 and 3, Burns Unit and the Labour Ward.
The SWRHA says that Elevator No 1 will also be unavailable and the public is being advised to utilize the other elevators located at the facility.
"This has become necessary to facilitate the removal and replacement of the electrical panel at Tower 1. All appropriate safety and emergency protocols have been activated to mitigate any inconvenience that may be caused," the SWRHA says.
