A Freeport woman is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate, charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
The woman was charged by officers of the Central Division Task Force (CDTF), during an anti-crime exercise in the Freeport district, yesterday.
The exercise which took place between 10 pm on Monday 9th April, 2018, and 3 am on Tuesday 10th April, 2018, was supervised by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Inraj Balram and ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith and included officers of the CDTF.
During the exercise, Nicole Nalini Thompson, 36, of Southern Main Road, Chase Village, Freeport, was arrested and charged when CDTF officers executed a search warrant at Thompson’s home.
One Jennings automatic pistol, loaded with one magazine containing seven rounds of .380 ammunition, was found hidden in a suitcase at the house.
Thompson was then conveyed to the Freeport Police Station, where she was charged by PC Darryl Rampersad, of the CDTF, for the offences.
