Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle for her wedding to Prince Harry after her father pulled out of the ceremony.
Ms Markle ended days of speculation on Thursday as she confirmed her father Thomas Markle Sr, 73, would not be present at the service following a heart operation.
Her mother Doria Ragland had been widely tipped to stand in for her ex-husband and walk Harry's bride down the aisle at St George's Chapel, Windsor, on Saturday.
But on Friday morning, Kensington Palace confirmed Ms Markle had asked Harry's father Prince Charles to stand in for her sick father.
Kensington Palace said in a statement: "Ms Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George's Chapel on her Wedding Day.
"The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms Markle to the Royal Family in this way."
