She is expected to address approximately 100 women, including AMCHAM BEC members, representatives from the government of Barbados and various non-governmental organizations at the Radisson Aquatica Hotel in Barbados.

Other speakers include Dr Shirley Hanoman-Jhagroo, Medical Co-ordinator of the Breast Screening Programme of the Barbados Cancer Society (BCS), Ms Lisa Wardell, President & CEO, Adtalem Global Education, Mrs Donna C.B. Babb-Agard, QC, Director of Public Prosecutions of Barbados, and Her Excellency, Marie Legault, High Commissioner of Canada in Barbados.

A statement by the Office of the Leader of the Opposition says that in accepting the invitation, Persad-Bissessar said, “It is an honour to have been asked to share my story with young women in Barbados, and I am happy to be part of this panel, along with so many distinguished women. It is my hope that events such as these will inspire more girls and women in the region to step forward, claim their space and take up the challenges that are facing us all in the Caribbean."

The AmCham BEC will be supporting the “We Inspire Women” Charity and have reached out to The Barbados Community College as a goodwill gesture.
