Kes The Bandhas issued a statement officially thanking the people of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as all masqueraders (local, regional and international), all DJs, program directors, influencers and tastemakers for embracing their song, “Savannah Grass” and including it in the soundtrack of Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2019.
In a statement issued Wednesday, lead singer of the band of brothers, Kees Dieffenthaller said:
“The song was created as a dedication to the culture of our amazing twin-island nation and further serves as a dedication to the memory and the legacy of our dearly departed father, George "Bunny” Dieffenthaller. To be included and even considered as a possible Road March of the people was an amazing scenario and an additional blessing that we could not have anticipated or prepared for in advance.
“Congratulations to the Famalay of Skinny Fabulous, Machel Montano and Bunji Garlin on their victory. Together, we have provided the people, the festivals and the region with an awesome soundtrack to celebrate Caribbean culture with throughout the coming year…Look out for our signature event, Kes’ Tuesday on the Rocks coming to a city near you in 2019!"
Savannah Grass was adjudged 2nd in the Road Mas race to 'Famalay'.
