Darren Sealy, a 24-year-old labourer from Upper Pashley Street, Laventille, has been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Kevon De Peza.
Sealy appeared before Chief Magistrate Maria Busby Earle Caddle, in the Port of Spain 8th Magistrates’ Court today. He was also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The matter was postponed to Monday 10th September 10th.
According to police reports Mr De Peza, of Trou Macaque Road, Laventille, was standing at the front of his home around 3:00 pm on April 16th when he was shot multiple times about the body.
He was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Sealy was arrested on August 5th 2018, by officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 1, and charged following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul, on August 11th.
Investigations were supervised by W/ASP (Ag.) Suzette Martin, while PC Adrian Smith, both of HBI Region 1, laid the charges.
