Long-period swells to continue another 24-30 hours

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) says that long-period swells continue to affect northern coastlines of Tobago and to a lesser extent Trinidad.

However, it says slow improvement along affected coasts is expected over the next 24 to 30 hours as the effects of these swells are forecast to gradually diminish.

The general sea state is currently moderate.

The effects of these swells are in the form of large breaking waves along nearshore areas and are more evident at high tide.

Fisherfolk and citizens, particular those residing along northern coastal areas are being advised to continue to be on the alert.
