Man dies in hospital 9 days after being shot

A man, who was shot 12 times, near his home in Mal­abar over a week ago died on Tues­day at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex in Mount Hope.

An au­top­sy con­duct­ed on the body of Kevin Parkin­son, 28, on Wednes­day at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre re­vealed that he died from in­ter­nal and ex­ter­nal haem­or­rhage con­sis­tent with gun­shot wounds.


It was re­port­ed that Parkin­son was stand­ing at the cor­ner of All Stars Cres­cent and Nu­tones Boule­vard when a car ap­proached him and one of the oc­cu­pants opened fire on him. The car then sped off.

Speak­ing with Guardian Me­dia, Parkin­son's broth­er said they are clue­less as to why any­one would have want­ed him dead, "we re­al­ly don't know. He was a fa­ther of two and worked con­struc­tion. I feel is peo­ple just war­ring with each oth­er and shoot­ing any­one they see.

We are fright­ened too for our lives es­pe­cial­ly the life of my lit­tle sis­ter."
