Mom, 34, fighting for her life after knife attack

A 34-year-old mother of three is now fighting for her life as she was viciously attacked at her Enterprise, Chaguanas home on Monday. She was stabbed several times during the attack.

Police officers have now launched a manhunt for a close male relative who is believed to be her attacker.

According to a police report, at about 8.30 am Emily Roberts was at her home at Crown Trace when she got into an argument with a close male relative. The argument escalated into a fight, where she was stabbed about ten times about her body, including the back, arms, hands and abdomen. Police said she was also slashed across the abdomen causing her intestines to “pop out.”

Roberts managed to run out of the house screaming for help but collapsed on the roadway where she was assisted by neighbours, who called the police. She was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility and transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mount Hope, where she is warded in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Anyone with information on the incident and the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact the Chaguanas Police Station, or 555 or 800-TIPS or 482-GARY.
