Condolences on the death of Wayne Chance, Founder and Executive President of Vision on Mission (VOM) continue to pour in.
The most recent have come from National Security Minister, Stuart Young.
The full text of the minister’s statement, follows…
“On behalf of the Ministry of National Security, Minister of National Security the Honourable Stuart R. Young M.P. extends condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Mr. Wayne Chance on his passing last night.
Mr. Chance was the Founder and Executive President of Vision on Mission (VOM) and a pioneer in fostering awareness of Restorative Justice through Offender Management, especially via rehabilitation and resettlement.
Mr. Chance worked with the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service for the past eighteen (18) years in administering rehabilitative and reintegration programmes, in particular through VOM’s Preparation for Release Programme at the nation’s prisons. Mr. Chance was the recipient of several distinguished awards including the Hummingbird Medal Silver in 2010 for Community Service.
Minister Young also expressed appreciation for Mr. Chance’s valuable input in the area of Public Safety and his dedication to transforming the lives of inmates, with a view to creating a more peaceful and lawful society.”
