Minister in the Ministry of Education and Moruga/Tableland MP Dr Lovell Francis says he received no reports of election irregularities in the Moruga district.

Francis said he was happy with the voting process at his alma mater at Basse Terre RC Primary in Moruga where he voted.

"The process was good. I hardly have any issues with the EBC or how it functions. He said the turn out was slow during the morning, but it picked up closer to the close off time at 6 pm.

He explained, "Most people tend to work outside of the community and it depends on the hour they have to get to work, so it's either they go to work late, which most people prefer not to do, so right there is a big rush in Moruga in terms of voting in the last hour or so. In the last Local Government Election, the United National Congress won nine electoral districts while the Peoples National Movement took control of one."
