Peytonville man charged with possession of firearm & ammunition

A Peytonville man is currently in police custody for possession of a firearm, a quantity of ammunition and marijuana, after being arrested during an anti-crime exercise in the Carapo and Peytonville districts.

The 23-year-old, of Wall Street, Peytonville, was arrested around 5:32 pm, on Thursday 17th May, 2018, by officers of the La Horquetta Crime Patrol Unit, after a search warrant was executed at his home.

During the search, officers discovered one Smith and Wesson pistol and 14 rounds of 9mm ammunition hidden in an old stove in the house.

An additional 20 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one magazine loaded with one round of 5.56mm ammunition and 600 grammes of marijuana were then found hidden behind a toilet tank in an outhouse.

The man was subsequently arrested in connection with the find.

The exercise, supervised by Cpl. (Ag.) Justin Durity, took place between 4:00 pm and 6:45 pm on Thursday 17th May, 2018. PC Cyron Henry is continuing enquiries.
