Police destroy $3m worth of marijuana

Marijuana trees worth approximately TT$3 million were destroyed by officers of the South Western Division Task Force during a marijuana eradication exercise conducted in Point Fortin yesterday.

Officers conducted the exercise on October 15th, during which they proceeded to a bushy area off the Point Fortin Field Road, where they conducted a search.

The search resulted in the officers finding 3,000 fully grown marijuana trees and 1,200 seedlings.

The plants were subsequently uprooted and destroyed. Investigations are ongoing.
