Police seize AK-47 rifle during anti-crime exercise in Couva.

The following is a press release from the TTPS:

An assault rifle was discovered by officers of the Couva Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise, in the Couva district, over the weekend.

Officers conducted the exercise, between 12:00pm and 4:00pm, on Saturday 18th November, 2017.

Acting on information, they proceeded to an abandoned house, located at Hill Top Avenue, Claxton Bay, where they found one Zastava AK-47 rifle, hidden inside an abandoned refrigerator.

No arrest was made in connection with the find.
