One party promoter has decided to cancel a major event, as a result of the upsurge in violence on Trinidad's north coast, over the past 48 hours.
In an official statement, the Dignitariez committee says it has cancelled its "summer" event -- jam beach -- which was initially carded for august first, at a popular beach on Trinidad's north coast.
The decision was made after prolonged discussions with the protective services.
Dignitartiez says they are cancelling to safeguard the well-being of their patrons, suppliers, sponsors and other stakeholders.
The party committee says they contemplated switching to another venue but decided against it because they would not have been able to re-create the setting and ambience which the original venue promised.
Dignitariez says patrons holding valid tickets are asked to contact committee members or make contact with at dignitariez tt via Instagram.
Dignitariez says patrons would be able to secure a full refund, from Monday July 29th.
