Retiree turns himself in to police after stabbing man in brawl

A 61-year-old retiree is currently in police custody, after turning himself in for stabbing a man during an altercation in the La Brea district on Wednesday.

Around 8pm on Wednesday, the suspect of Pier Road, La Brea, entered the La Brea Police Station and admitted to stabbing a man twice during an altercation along Majuba Road, La Brea.

Police say that at around 6pm that same day, the suspect admitted to have gotten into an argument with a man he knew, near a Play Whé booth.

During the altercation, he stabbed the victim in his chest and back before escaping on foot.

The victim, a 40-year-old man of Queen Street, La Brea, is currently warded at the San Fernando General Hospital in critical condition.

PC Seepersad, of the La Brea Police Station, is continuing enquiries.
