Search intensifies for YTC escapees

The search for the five young of­fend­ers who es­caped from the Youth Train­ing Cen­tre (YTC) has in­ten­si­fied as new in­for­ma­tion sug­gests that they are be­lieved to be hid­ing out in the thick forest­ed hills if the North­ern Range.

Sources told the Guardian Me­dia on Fri­day that the men were be­lieved to have been spot­ted at a spe­cif­ic lo­ca­tion.


How­ev­er, when po­lice of­fi­cers at­tempt­ed to ven­ture they were al­leged­ly forced to “go back to the draw­ing board” to spe­cialise it’s team be­cause of the “dif­fi­cult ter­rain that they will have to trek.

When con­tact­ed for com­ment Com­mis­sion­er of Pris­ons, Ger­ard Wil­son would on­ly con­firm that he was “hear­ing some­thing like that but didn’t know much” as he was not giv­en any con­fir­ma­tion as to the ex­act plan.

Two weeks ago vil­lagers at Cara­po said they be­lieved to have seen the men en­ter­ing and ex­it­ing the bush­es in the area main­ly at night time but added that of more re­cent their sight­ings weren’t that fre­quent any­more.

On Fri­day, the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice, in a re­lease, said they con­tin­ue to pur­sue all leads in the re­cap­ture of the five ju­ve­nile es­capees, who have all been charged with mur­der. The sus­pects es­caped from prison on Oc­to­ber 3rd 2019.

A re­ward of TT$50,000.00 is be­ing of­fered by Crime Stop­pers for the re­cap­ture of each es­capee.

The es­capees have been iden­ti­fied as Dil­lano Mar­cano, 16, of Pearl Dri­ve, La Paille Vil­lage, Ca­roni and LP 34 Agos­ti­ni Street, St Joseph; Jaden Fletch­er of LP#73 Par­ry­lands Vil­lage, Guapo, Sixth Com­pa­ny Cir­cu­lar Road, New Grant, Princes Town; An­tho­ny Ram­sumair, 19, of No. 12 New Vil­lage Ex­ten­sion, La For­tune, Wood­land; Bri­an Seep­er­sad, 17, of No. 24 Sea Trace, Bagatelle Road, Diego Mar­tin and Dar­ren Scott, 17, of O’Meara Road, Cara­po Vil­lage, Ari­ma.
