Shotgun, marijuana found in camp in Moruga

A pump action shotgun and a quantity of marijuana were found at a camp in Moruga, by officers of the Moruga Police Station, yesterday, a statement by the police says.

The discovery was made around 9:30 am, on Tuesday 6th June, 2017, by officers on mobile patrol in the district.

The officers, acting on information, went to Shorty Street, Bois Jean Jean, Moruga, where they found the camp in a forested area.

Three male occupants, who were at the camp, immediately fled upon seeing the officers.

A search of the camp led to the discovery of a 12 gauge Maverick Pro shotgun, along with 3.86 kilogrammes of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $38,600.

No arrest was made in connection with the finds.
