Teenage girl among 5 arrested following police exercise

A teenage girl has been arrested following a police exercise in Arima. The following is a media release from the  TTPS:

Five persons were arrested and a pistol, a quantity of ammunition and a bulletproof vest seized, by officers of the Northern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise, yesterday morning.

Officers conducted the exercise between 4:00 am and 8:00 am, in Arima, during which a search warrant was executed at a house at Sherwood Park, around 5:00 am.

A search of the house resulted in one black bullet proof vest being discovered. Five persons, a 22-year-old man of Pinto Road, Arima, a 23-year-old male and a 26-year-old male both of Lucknow Street, St. James, an 18-year-old female of Orchid Lane, La Horquetta and a 26-year-old man of Jean Lane, Arima, who was in the house at the time of the exercise was arrested in connection with the find. 

Officers then proceeded to a bushy area in Sherwood Park, around 5:45 am, where they found one black Smith and Wesson pistol, loaded with a magazine, containing 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

No arrests were made in connection with the find.
