Temporary traffic disruption: Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway southbound lane

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the public that from Friday 26th October to Saturday 27th October there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the Solomon Hochoy Highway (South Bound) in the vicinity of the Calcutta #1 Tunnel, Freeport to facilitate emergency temporary road repairs.

During this time between the hours of 3:00pm and 10 pm, only one lane of traffic will be allowed to proceed north on the southbound lane. 

The other lane is diverted to the Freeport Parallel Access Road.

From 10 pm to 7:00 am the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway will be closed to all vehicular traffic. 

The public is advised to utilize the following alternative routes and comply with the following directions: 

 Motorists heading South on Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway are advised to enter the Freeport Parallel Access Road, cross Calcutta #1 Road and re-enter the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway (southbound). 

 Motorists heading North on the Freeport Parallel Access Road towards Calcutta #1 Road are advised to head east on Calcutta Settlement Road #3 to Freeport Mission Road, then north, back onto Calcutta #1 Road. 

Please follow instructions from Police Officers on site to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic. 

Please be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the site.
