Thin air awaits Soca Warriors in qualifier against the US

While keeping one eye on the crucial need for points, the Soca Warriors will have another concern when they face the United States in a CONCACAF World Cup qualifier on June 8th, that of thin air.

The U.S. Soccer Federation has finalised its decision to play its June 8 qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago at Commerce City, Colorado.

Thin air in Colorado is often cited as an advantage to Colorado athletes, like the Denver Broncos, and the US men's team is expected to take advantage of the air against their competitors by setting to training at least a week ahead of the June 8 match.

This marks the third-straight qualifying cycle that Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Colorada will host a game.

In 2013, the USA beat Costa Rica 1-0 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park under snowy conditions.

"In all ways, Denver provides a great environment for our team", coach Bruce Arena says.

Trinidad and Tobago currently sits in 6th position with 3 points, while the US is 4th with 4 points.

Both teams will need to win to stand a good chance of moving on to the World Cup.
