Toco fisherman to appear in court today charged with murder

A fight between two Toco fishermen over a boat has left one dead and another to be charged with his murder.

This has been confirmed by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

According to a release from the TTPS, Toco fisherman Tyron Marryshow also known as “Shaka” will appear in court today charged with the murder of David Callender.

According to reports, 38-year-old Callender of Cumana Village got into an altercation with another man over an electrical part for a boat. 

During the incident, the man pulled out a firearm and shot the victim multiple times about the body. He died on the scene.

Investigations by the Homicide Bureau of Investigations traced the gun used in this killing back to Marryshow who was previously charged with possession of the same weapon.

Charges were laid by Sergeant Harridath Sookdeo on the advice of the acting DPP.
