UPDATE: Marlene still in custody

Public Administration Minister Marlene McDonald and her husband Michael Carew are still in police custody being questioned in relation to corruption allegations.
The duo's attorney-at-law Pamela Elder, SC told reporters "interviews will resume at 4 pm" on Friday afternoon. 'No charges have been laid," she said.
McDonald and her husband were taken into custody on Thursday morning after police officers executed a search warrant at her Valley View, Maracas, St. Joseph home. Police also searched McDonald's Port of Spain South Constituency office in Piccadilly Street, Port of Spain.
McDonald, who spent the night at the St. Joseph police station last night, was taken to the Professional Standards Bureau this morning to continue her interrogation.

Sources said their detention involved the Calabar Foundation regarding which the Police Service’s Fraud Squad had been investigating since 2016 after a complaint by Fixin' T&T.
