Virgin Atlantic's 'Island View' to help boost Tobago's tourism

Tobago is now on the map – virtually, that is – after the highly anticipated Island View project went live in January 2018.

A joint marketing initiative between Virgin Atlantic and the Division of Tourism, Culture and Transportation, Island View allows residents and visitors to capture, share and discover the various experiences Tobago has to offer through the use of Google Street View technology.

Island View was previously announced at World Travel Market in London on November 6, 2017.

Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Transportation, Councillor Nadine Stewart-Phillips, identified the project as a key component in Tobago’s awareness campaign in the UK travel market, with the potential to generate quality content for use in upcoming marketing initiatives.

Promotion of this new digital exploration feature includes a destination video produced by the Virgin Atlantic content team.

The short film, titled “Tobago #IslandView”, showcases scenic footage of popular attractions and hidden gems across the destination in an “explorable portrait of the island”.

The minute-long video offers additional exposure for the destination.
