WASA's northern plants back up and running

Tuesday, January 2, 2018 - 09:45

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of North Trinidad affected by recent disruptions at several water treatment plants following heavy rainfall, that all impacted facilities have returned to service, with the exception of the Matura plant.

WASA says that as such, the supply to the community of Matura continues to be affected.

It says that based on improving conditions, this plant is expected to be restarted today, Tuesday January 2nd, 2018.

As the pipe-borne water supply is restored to affected areas, customers are being advised that it may take up to 24 hours to normalize service in keeping with regular pipe-borne water supply schedules.

WASA says a limited truck-borne service will be available with priority given to special homes and health-care institutions.
