A Belmont man is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today charged with a double murder in 2017—the murders of Mukhtar Ali and Jamal Modeste—as well a charge of shooting with intent against a female victim, which occurred on Sunday 3 December 2017.
24-year-old hospital attendant, ANTHONY MOORE (alias ‘Chico’), of St. Francois Valley Road, Belmont, also was charged with possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Friday 17 January 2020.

Police say 23 year-old Shakeem Roberts was liming on some steps in the area at about 12:30 this morning, when a gunman approached, shot him, and then ran away.
Roberts died on the spot.

Port of Spain Division police seized a quantity of ammunition and marijuana, during an anti-crime exercise in the Belmont district on Monday.
According to police reports, officers conducted a search of an area on Upper Belmont Valley Road, where they found 25 rounds of 5.56 ammunition and 400 grams of marijuana.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt David and supervised by Insp. Lopez, Insp. Brown, Sgt. Austin, Sgt. Murray and Cpl Budri. It included officers of the Port of Spain Criminal Investigations Department, Canine Unit and Woodbrook Police Station.
Members of the public are being asked to help locate the whereabouts of ASTAR BISHOP, of Belmont, who has been reported missing since midday, yesterday.
Relatives of Mr Bishop told Guardian Media that his car was found today parked on the east bound lane of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway, near to Courts Megastore.
Astar Bishop is 37-years-old, and five feet 10 inches tall. He is said to be of medium build and has a dark brown complexion.
Officers from the Belmont Fire Station have been fighting a blaze at an abandoned building at Augustine Lane Belmont Wednesday morning.
Investigators believe the fire started just after 10 am and that it might have been deliberately set.
Firefighters have been able to contain the blaze from spreading to nearby homes.
Belmont police are continuing inquiries.
Relatives of a Belmont man are asking for the public's help in locating him.
Deena Bartholomew-Dixon wrote on Facebook: "My family and I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide in helping us locate my father Lester Bartholomew, who has been missing from our Belmont home since yesterday. He is showing signs of dementia and is most likely lost or a bit confused.
