26-year-old T&T national shot dead in Canada

A 26-year-old T&T national has been shot dead in Canada, leaving behind his wife and 18-month old child.

Police say David Eminess and his 29-year-old friend Quinn Taylor had gone to Chinatown on Sunday to watch a game and get a drink. 

Police say there was a crowd of people and a fight broke out. Both Eminess and Taylor got caught in the crossfire and were killed.

Canada police seize cocaine in orange juice cartons originating in Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago is once again the focus of a drug bust involving cocaine in juice containers.

Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced today that they have arrested two Greater Toronto Area residents for illegally importing approximately 44 litres of liquid cocaine.

The statement says that the investigation commenced on November 16, 2015, when Canada Border Services Agency officers at the Port of Halifax inspected a sea container containing different food products that originated from Trinidad and Tobago.

Court orders extradition of T&T national to Canada on 54 charges including murder and kidnapping

A 52-year-old Trinidad and Tobago national has been ordered extradited to Canada to face 54 charges including murder and kidnapping.

Chief Magistrate Marcia Caesar-Ayers, presiding in the Port of Spain 8th Magistrate’s Court, on Tuesday 27th October, 2015, directed that Septimus Neverson also known as Christopher David Munroe, Richard Murphy and Septimus Samuel, be returned to Canada to answer the charges.
