An autopsy is expected to be conducted on the body of a man which was discovered in a drain at Royal Road, Caura on Monday.
Reports indicate that the police were escorted to a location in the vicinity of the poolside bar, there they observed the lifeless body of the deceased, lying in a drain on the western side of the roadway, bleeding from his mouth, nose and head.
The deceased was clad in a grey T-shirt, with a blue three-quarter pants and an underwear off his body but near his feet.
Police have detained two people in connection with the murder of a Barataria man on Friday. The man’s death has taken the murder toll to 176.
The man, 40-year-old Rasheed Khan, was killed while in on the Caura Valley Road after being shot in his chest.
He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived.
According to witnesses, around 9 pm, loud explosions were heard.
The witnesses called the police who held two people while they were attempting to escape.
Police are investigating the discovered of burnt human remains in Caura.
The discovery was made around 9.20 Thursday morning near to the the WASA pumping station along Caura Royal Road.
The body was surrounded by burnt tyres.
