Homicide officers have found charred remains and piece of a skull in a latrine located in the back of a dilapidated wooden house at Black Street, Reform Village, Gasparillo a short while ago.
The remains are believed to be that of missing 52-year-old Deoraj Bedassie who was last seen on his birthday on March 26.
On Monday night officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad and the Homicide Bureau in South detained a 24-year-old man of Barrackpore for questioning.
Two brothers have been charged with possession of prohibited wildlife in the close season.
Rennie Leopold, 31, of Foster Road, Sangre Grande, and Roger Leopold, 23, of Eastern Main Road, Sangre Chiquito, were arrested and charged after being found in possession of three live iguanas.

The Unruly Isis member won’t come forward with information about issues in Enterprise, Chaguanas, unless proper arrangements are made to receive it and the State agrees not to engage in intimidation, coercion or prosecution, says Islamic front leader Umar Abdullah.
“These (conditions) are necessary because giving that sort of information is very risky - we know what happens to witnesses,” Abdullah told the T&T Guardian yesterday.
Police are at this time investigating a double-murder in Laventille.
Two men were shot dead as they drove along Belgrove Street, Laventille.
The two men were located in the driver's seat and passenger's seat of the vehicle.
A picture of the two men bleeding from their heads is being circulated online.
The photo shows the men, both dressed in black t-shirts slumped towards each other, both partially covered in blood.
This is the fourth case of shooting incidents that took the lives of two or more people in the last 10 days.
A 37-year-old St James man is now in police custody, after he was found to be in possession of a weapon and a quantity of ammunition and narcotics.
Police say that around 2:15 pm on Sunday 2nd April, 2017, a party of officers on mobile patrol in the St James Police district, responded to a report of two men conducting narcotic sales at Dundonald Hill.
On seeing the officers, the two men ran off.
One of the suspects was apprehended a short distance away, while the second man managed to escape.
Police have destroyed marijuana with a street value of $14.6 million dollars in an eradication exercise, in the St. Joseph.
A police statement says the exercise took place on March 28th, 2017 and was carried out at Wharf Trace, Maracas, under the supervision of Inspector Teewarie.
It involved officers from the Organised Crime, Narcotics and Firearms Bureau, the Air Support Unit and members of the Northern Division Task Force.
Sixteen motorists were arrested and charged with driving under the influence following traffic exercises in the Southwestern Division over the weekend, a police statement said.
The first exercise, which took place in the San Fernando district between 11pm on Friday 31st March, 2017 and 5am on Saturday 1st April, 2017, resulted in a total of 65 persons being administered breathalyser tests.

At around 1:30pm, while at Five Acres, Sahadeen Trace, Vega De Oropouche, the party of officers observed Kurt Garcia, 22, acting suspiciously as he walked along the said roadway.
