A Chinese national was among three persons detained in connection with a mall, car-stealing ring.
Police said they believe that the arrests come as a major breakthrough in their investigations into vehicles being stolen from several car parks at various malls in North Trinidad.
According to a police report, at about 1 pm on Wednesday, police officers received intelligence about a stolen vehicle being housed at the Lady Young Road, Morvant.
The Trinidad and Tobago police service is denying that it failed to enforce a protection order against the man who killed Naiee Singh.
In a release today, the TTPS set the record straight by revealing that Singh never filed any complaints with the police.
It further revealed that Singh was granted a protection order just one week before her murder and her protection order was never served to her district police station.

A 19 year old Tobago woman was airlifted to Trinidad, after she was allegedly set on fire by unknown men, on Tuesday night.
She was found near Kilgwyn Bay, near the Apex Restaurant and Bar.
The victim has been identified as Allena Dial of Riseland Trace, Carnbee, a kitchen assistant employed with the Tristar Restaurant.
According to police reports the incident occurred shortly before 9pm on Tuesday.
The International Women’s Resource Network (IRWN) says that if reports of harassment were made against Roger Singh, he should have been arrested before he was able to murder his estranged wife, Naiee Singh on Monday.
Naiee, 31, an administrative officer at Venture Credit Union, Couva was shot twice by Singh, 33, outside her workplace along Noel Street.
One man was arrested and a firearm and a quantity of cocaine found during an anti-crime exercise Couva yesterday.
The exercise was conducted under the supervision of Snr. Supt. Hunte, Supt. Mystar, ASP Smith and other members of the Central Division Task Force.
According to police reports, during the exercise, officers searched a bushy area at Calcutta Road #1, where they discovered 420 grammes of cocaine together with one Glock pistol and a magazine.
A Guayaguayare man is expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today, charged with the 2018 murder of Ronald Mohan. Kerwyn Garcia, 27, of Ferrier Circular, Guayaguayare, was charged with the offence following advice received from the Deputy DPP Mrs. Joan Honore-Paul, on January 27th.
Mr. Mohan, 31, of St. Mary’s Village, Moruga, was found with a gunshot wound to his head on April 21st 2018, at Rochard Douglas Road, Barrackpore.
A Tunapuna man is expected to appear before a Tunapuna Magistrate today charged with the 2019 murder of Shiloh Collingwood.
Marvin Williams Campbell, aka ‘Minge’, 31, of Monte Grande, Tunapuna, is also charged with possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on January 27th.
According to police reports, Mr. Collingwood, 24, also of Monte Grande, Tunapuna, was at his home on November 22nd 2019, when he was approached by a lone gunman who shot at him several times.
