Chaguanas Chamber: A loss for both the country and the region

"The Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce (C.C.I.C.) would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Dr. Anthony N. Sabga.

The Chamber and its members are deeply saddened by his passing. Dr. Sabga migrated to Trinidad from Syria at the age of 13 and was a visionary. 

Despite the hardships at that time and during the world wars, he was able to establish several successful businesses including Standard Distributors (1945), Ansa Industries Limited (1965) and Anthony N. Sabga Ltd, amongst many others.

Chamber: Sabga played pivotal role in several areas of national life

"The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce was deeply saddened to learn today of the passing of Dr. Anthony N. Sabga, ORTT - businessman extraordinaire and patriarch of the Sabga family of Trinidad and Tobago.

We extend our sincerest sympathies to his family, close friends and relatives. Born in Syria in 1923, Dr. Sabga arrived in Trinidad with his family in 1930.

At just 14 years of age, he joined the family business on Queen Street, marking the beginning of his long and stellar career.

TTMA: A true icon has passed

The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA) says Dr Anthony Sabga was one of the main contributors of the local manufacturing industry and says he will be truly missed.

The TTMA has issued a tribute on the event of his passing.

"The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association wishes to extend its condolences to the family and friends on the passing of Dr. Anthony N. Sabga. 
 
A captain of industry, Dr. Sabga’s passing has left a void in the business landscape of Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister Hosein, Dr Moonilal pay tribute to Dr Anthony Sabga

Tributes continue to pour in over the passing of the Chairman Emeritus of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies, Dr Anthony Norman Sabga.

Minister of Rural Development and Local Government Kazim Hosein issued the following statement:

"My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Dr. Anthony Norman Sabga O.R.T.T. He was a role model for many generations, a paragon in our community, a true leader, and a trailblazer in shaping the entrepreneurial landscape of Trinidad and Tobago.

TTPBA mourns passing of business icon Dr Anthony Sabga

The  Trinidad and Tobago Publishers and Broadcasters Association has offered condolences on the passing of business icon Dr Anthony Norman Sabga who passed Wednesday morning.

Guardian Media Limited is a part of the ANSA McAL Group. 

The following is the TTPBA's statement.

"The Trinidad and Tobago Publishers and Broadcasters Association (TTPBA) mourns the passing of Dr. Anthony N. Sabga O.R.T.T. 

Dr. Sabga's vision for ANSA McAL culminated in the formation of then Trinidad Publishing Company, now Guardian Media Limited (GML) - an integral member of TTPBA.
