EBC releases official results

The Elections and Boundaries Commission has released the official results from last Monday's local government elections, and it shows that the voter turnout was 34.34%.

As it stands the PNM controls more regional corporations,  but the UNC got more votes overall.

Yesterday the prime minister took the media to task over reports about low voter turnout, suggesting what he described as politically motivated misinformation was intended at benefitting the opposition.
