Valencia man held for shotguns hidden under sofa

One man was arrested and two homemade shotguns and a pistol seized during an anti-crime exercise by officers of the Northern Division Task Force, East, in the Valencia district yesterday.

The exercise, coordinated by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ag. McDonald Jacob and spearheaded by Snr. Supt.(Ag.) Michael Daniel, was conducted between 12 pm to 6:30 pm, on Monday 15th January, 2018.

Acting on information the officers proceeded to KP Lands, Valencia, where they executed a search warrant at the home of a 22-year-old man.

Five held transporting ammo, marijuana in Santa Flora

Five men were arrested and quantities of ammunition and marijuana seized, by officers of the Santa Flora Police Station during an anti-crime exercise in the district on Tuesday 9th January, 2018.

The exercise, coordinated by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Neville Adams and supervised by Sgt. Sheldon Ablacksingh, took place around between 6 pm and 10 pm, during which officers intercepted two motor vehicles; a white Nissan Tiida with one male occupant and a silver Toyota Axio with four male occupants, along the SS Erin Road.

Police seize close to 1,500 rounds of ammunition

In the largest arms and ammunition haul for the year thus far, officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force seized four firearms and 1,470 rounds of assorted ammunition, during an anti-crime exercise in Aranguez on Friday.

The exercise was spearheaded by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ag.) Patsy Joseph, coordinated by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Surrendra Sagramsingh and including Supt. Nazrudeen Pragg, ASP (Ag.) Michael Sooker and Insp. (Ag.) Simeon James.

Raid in Barrackpore - 12 guns & over 2,100 rounds of ammo seized

Police have seized 12 firearms in a raid in Barrackpore and one man has been arrested.

According to report, aound 6.30 am today,  gt Victor, Cpl George, Cpl Singh and other officers of the South Western Task Force and Penal CID, went to the home of a man on Jaipaulsingh Street, Barrackpore where they executed a search warrant.

The officers found 12 firearms which included six pistols, four revolvers and two rifles.

The officers also found 2,164 rounds of assorted ammunition made up of various calibres.

Three men arrested during police exercise

Police arrested three men during a police exercise when a pistol was discovered under the seat of the vehicle they were travelling in.

Miami border patrol seize over 100 guns destined for Jamaica

US Customs and Border Protection seized a shipment of over 100 firearms and several rounds of ammunition destined for Montego Bay from Miami. 

The shipment contained two blue shipping barrels said to contain personal effects.

During routine physical inspection officers of border protection discovered various food items, cat litter, a cardboard box labeled as a four-drawer dresser, and one cardboard box labeled as a television stand.

Officers made the discovery at an abandoned structure located at Purcell St, Mt Moriah, Vistabella.

Investigators say the bullets are for a number of guns including 9mms, 5.56 guns, 380, and 12 gauge shotguns.

Officers also discovered 12.5 kilos of marijuana during a search of the premise

17-year-old boy in viral video now in police custody

A 17-year-old male suspect, who is depicted brandishing two objects which appear to be firearms in a video which has gone viral on social media, has been arrested by police.

He was held by officers of the Chaguanas CID around 11.00am, on Friday 3rd November, as he appeared at the Chaguanas Police Station to have his supervised book signed, police said in a statement.

In the video, the suspect is seated in the back seat of a car and is urged by the driver of the vehicle to show the objects to the camera.
