The Ministry of Health, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) are advising members of the public to get the new 2018 Flu (Influenza) Vaccine, which is available at all Health Centres, at no cost.
A statement sent out by the Ministry of Health says that to ensure that members of the public are protected, especially for the upcoming Carnival season when many visitors arrive from countries with active flu transmission, the Ministry of Health is continuing its 2018 Flu Season Vaccination Drive.
President Anthony Carmona has met with the Dutch Foreign Affairs Minister Halbe Zijlstra in The Hague, Holland and discussed the possibility of doctors from Trinidad and Tobago being employed in Holland.
Carmona is in The Hague as the distinguished speaker of the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) ceremonial opening of the judicial year 2018 which takes place on Thursday 18th, January, 2018.
It is the first time the ICC will have a ceremonial opening for its judicial year.
The North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) is advising that the St James Health Centre will be closed on Saturday 13th January, 2018 to facilitate maintenance works.
The NWRHA says persons can continue to access care from 8 am to 4 pm at the Maraval, Petit Valley and Carenage Health Centres and from 9 am to 1 pm at the Woodbrook Health Centre.
Operations at the St James Health Centre will resume at 8 am on Monday 15th January, 2018.
