Venezuelan nationals, hoping to get jobs at hotels and restaurants across the country, will be offered training at the T&T Hospitality & Tourism Institute, better known as the hotel school.
Cara Hotels has leased the 53-room hotel attached to the National Academy of the Performing Arts (Napa).
According to a December 2018 Cabinet note about the deal, the company will pay some $390,000 per year to lease the Napa Hotel, payable in quarterly tranches.
The first payment is not expected until 2021.
Students of the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute are considering taking legal action against the institution.
The students are challenging a decision by the institute to significantly increase its tuition fees.
Those affected say fees have doubled for the next semester without justification.
An autopsy on the body of a woman found in a hotel room on Saturday has ruled out foul play.
According to the autopsy report, Lyndsay Sabrina Layne suffered a seizure.
The 33-year-old of Orange Grove Road, St Augustine is believed to have spent her last moments with a man at Touchdown Hotel in St Helena.
Today relatives at the Forensics Sciences Centre told media that Layne had no previous medical problems.
